Next general PTA meeting on February 6th: Technical Support Session on New MCPS Student Portal System
PTA general meeting will be held Tuesday February 6th, 6:30-7:30 pm in the Media Center: Bring your laptop and attend an interactive hands-on training session about setting up and using the new MCPS student portal system! Ms. Elise Hawkins from MCPS will share the capabilities of Parent Portal and assist the parent accounts set up on parents portable devices and resolve individual technical issues. It is important for the families to set up their parent portals and learn how to use it to access information about their child’s education.
The general PTA meeting will begin immediately following the training session at approximately 7:00pm. The PTA Board will provide a brief budget and committee update. We will also discuss the formation of a new election committee to assist with board member and committee chair selection. The treasurer will also discuss the needs to prepare for next year’s budget, including development of the financial committee.
Bar-T will provide childcare during the PTA meeting. They will be holding a special event called “Let the Stars Shine” (6:30p-8p). There will be a talent show (bring your own music), arts and crafts and STEM activities. All kids whose parents are attending the PTA meeting are invited to participate!
