  • The 5th grade class is working together to fundraise for their year-end celebrations. Please consider supporting them to spread love this Valentine’s Day.
  • The 5th grade invites all Bells Mill students, parents and teachers to participate in the their Valentine’s Day wishing wall!
  • It’s easy to participate: Buy a heart for $1 and write your wish for the school this Valentine’s Day, all proceeds go toward the 5th grade fund. 
  • 5th graders and parent volunteers will sell hearts for $1 on February 7, 8 and 9th during all three lunch periods, just outside of the cafeteria!

Earn $$ for Bells Mill With Groceries!

The School Supports two exciting ways to raise money with groceries at Bells Mill:

  1. If you already shop at Giant, sign up for A+Rewards at https://giantfood.com/school-rewards/ to earn money with every purchase!
  2. Bells Mill has a successful Box Tops for Education program. Box Tops can be found on may boxed and canned goods. Clip/save the box tops and send into school with your child. There is a donation box in the front hallway. Stay tuned for more information about classroom contests about this program!

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2017-2018 theme: Within Reach

Scholastic Book Fair Details! Volunteer Slots Open!

We are thrilled to announce that the annual PTA-Sponsored Bells Mill Scholastic Book Fair is rolling into the school’s media center from Monday, October 9th through Thursday, October 12! This popular and fun event is not a PTA fundraiser. Profits from sales go directly toward purchasing new materials such as media center books or curriculum tool kits for the classroom. Every single student and staff member at our school benefits from our book fair!

After School Program Process; Registration Still Open!

Parents, Please help the teachers and front office. The after hours enrichment classes offered through Flex Academies start this week. In order to aid the school staff with the safe and orderly transition of the students to the after hours enrichment classes (Chess, Coding, Drawing, Mad Sciences, Tennis) please make sure that you notify the teachers by putting a note in the student folders including the complete name of the class and start date. Mandatory Training for Volunteers (If you Completed in 2016-2017, Still Valid!)

Mandatory MCPS Volunteer Training (30 Min. Online)

Last year, MCPS initiated a mandatory child abuse and neglect training for ALL school volunteers available on the MCPS website called, “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect: For Volunteers and Contractors.”

ALL lunch/recess, field trip, media and classroom volunteers
MUST take the training before volunteering.

If you completed the MCPS training during the 2016-2017 school year, you DO NOT need to take it during the 2017-2018 school year.Read Full Post
