On behalf of the Montgomery County PTA, it is my pleasure to announce the 2013-2014 Montgomery County PTA Reflections Awards of Excellence for Outstanding Interpretation of the Theme and Award of Merit winners for this year’s Reflections program.

This year’s theme, “Believe, Dream, Inspire”, provided students with the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of creative ways. I am sure that everyone will enjoy seeing the entries at our annual Gallery and Award Ceremony (date, time and location to be determined).

Club Bells Mill — The BMES Olympics!

The last Club Bells Mill is this Saturday March 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The theme is Bells Mill Olympics!

What’s in it for the kids? Two hours of Olympic Games fun with their friends. Club Bells Mill costs only $10 and runs from 6pm-8pm. The evening includes music, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, and games.

This Week: PTA Mtg, Science Fair Help Night & Club Bells Mill

A few reminders/updates for this week:

PTA meeting rescheduled to Weds. March 12th

From 6:30-7pm – Science Fair Help night – Kids and parents both are encouraged to attend to find out what makes a great science fair presentation. (Science Fair is April 4th)

Starting at 7pm –  PTA meeting – we need your help at this meeting as we are voting on the PTA By-laws and we need a quorum (at least 15 PTA members) the brief business meeting will be followed by the 2nd grade teaching team who will discuss ways to support study habits at home while focusing on reading.Read Full Post

Impt: Updates due to School Closures

Given the school closings for Monday and Tuesday, please note the following on the Talent Show rehearsals, MSA tests, and school lunch menus.

Mandatory Talent Show Rehearsal:

The K-2 Talent Show rehearsal scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday has been moved to Wednesday/Thursday after school in the APR.  THESE ARE MANDATORY for kids who want to participate in the show.

MSA Testing Updates:

If school is on time tomorrow, due to the closure today:

*  Grades 5, 7, 8 Reading:  March 5 & 6 (no change from original schedule)
*  Grades 3, 4, 6 Math:  March 7 & 10 (no change from original schedule)
*  Grades 5, 7, 8 Math:  March 11 & 12 (no change from original schedule)
*  Grades 3, 4, 6 Reading:  March 13 & 14

If there is a delayed opening on Wednesday, March 5, all MSA testing will begin on March 6, with the following schedule in effect:

*  Grades 5, 7, 8 Reading:  March 6 & 7
*  Grades 3, 4, 6 Math:  March 10 & 11
*  Grades 5, 7, 8 Math:  March 12 & 13
*  Grades 3, 4, 6 Reading:  March 14 & 17
