THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11, IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER SO THAT YOU CAN GET A T-SHIRT WITH THE WALK FOR THE HOMELESS.
When:
On Thursday, October 18th at 2:30pm, Bells Mill ES will continue our tradition of participating in a Help the Homeless Community Walk. Parents are welcome to join, but it is not required.
Why:
We hope you will join our Community Walk or make a tax-deductible donation. 100% of all online registrations and donations will go directly to Stepping Stones Shelter, located in Rockville, MD. Stepping Stones provides support to homeless families with children in order to move them from crisis to a stable home environment by providing temporary shelter and services in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
In 2011, Stepping Stones served as the home of last resort for 33 families, including more than 110 individuals, nearly half of whom were children age 4 and under. Most families (42%) were young single mothers (aged 18-25) with very young children.
You can make a difference in the lives of homeless families and children by joining our team or making a donation. We appreciate your support for the homeless in our community!
