Thank to Greer Bautz, Joy Gerber, Julie Herman and Jeanine Resnick for yet another amazing Scholastic book fair! The school earned about $7,600 profit/books. Parents donated more than 200 books to fulfill teacher “wish lists!” The majority of the profit goes to the media center so that the entire school benefits, and the teachers will each get some of the credit to use as well. The PTA donated about $350 in books to the students in need. Thanks to everyone who shopped and to all the parent volunteers who helped out.
Thanks to Cristin Caine for organizing the Walk for Homeless. BMES raised $3,747 for Stepping Stones shelter.
Thanks to Amy Stolker, PTA Directory Chair and Kurt Shanfield – PTA Membership Chair for the hard work in directory production and directory distribution to our PTA members. Remember the Directories are only provided to families who have joined the PTA. If you haven’t joined the PTA but would like to join, it’s not too late and we would love your support! Mark your calendars now for our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 5th at 7pm. Following a brief PTA business meeting and principals report, BMES parent and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Stacy King, will present to the community on overuse injuries in adolescence. Check out Stacy King at www.stacykingpt.com and coming soon; www.aspireptandwellness.com. This is a must attend presentation for parents of children involved in sports at a young age.
