MCCPTA 2013-2014 Reflection Program Winners
“Believe, Dream,Inspire”
On behalf of the Montgomery County PTA, it is my pleasure to announce the 2013-2014 Montgomery County PTA Reflections Awards of Excellence for Outstanding Interpretation of the Theme and Award of Merit winners for this year’s Reflections program.
This year’s theme, “Believe, Dream, Inspire”, provided students with the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of creative ways. I am sure that everyone will enjoy seeing the entries at our annual Gallery and Award Ceremony (date, time and location to be determined).
The beliefs, dreams and inspiring messages of our students overwhelmed our judges. I cannot possibly express how much they appreciate the thought, creativity and passion that the entries possessed. It is never an easy task for them to choose winners, but after much thought and consideration, three Awards of Excellence for Outstanding Interpretation of the Theme were awarded in each division and category. These winning entries move on to the Maryland State competition where they will compete against winning students from participating counties in the state of Maryland in the same category/division.
Three Award of Merit winners are also recognized in each category/division, but those entries do not move on to the Maryland state competition.
All entries that entered at the county level will be displayed at the Gallery. Only those students who achieved an Award for Outstanding Interpretation of the Theme or an Award of Merit (Honorable Mention) will be acknowledged at the Ceremony. Once a date and time for this event is established, we will send out an invitation so that all the families can attend and take pride in their child’s artwork.
Please share this information with every student who participated in this program, along with my congratulations and gratitude. Whether a student won an award or not, they should know that there was great appreciation for their unique and personal art. Their talent is overwhelming, and their enthusiasm for the arts is what keeps this program exciting and fun. I hope every student continues to create art for a long time to come, because their work is inspirational!
Good luck to all of our Award of Excellence winners who are moving on to the Maryland State competition! We hope to be able to share good news with you when the state decisions are announced.
