Students will be released at 1 p.m.

Grades 3, 4 and 5 Testing Around the Corner

Please mark your calendars. Maryland State Assessments (MSA) are administered in March to students in 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grades. On testing days, we encourage students to eat a healthy breakfast, come to school on time, and be well-rested. Testing will last all morning. Join students of Bells Mill Elementary for its 4^th annual celebration of diversity during this important month. All are welcome!

Girls on Run Team for BMES Students Grades 3-5

Girls on the Run is coming back to

Bells Mill Elementary School!!!!

WHAT: Girls on the Run is a nationwide, not-for-profit after-school program that combines training for a 5K running event with self-esteem enhancing and uplifting workouts.

WHO: This program is open to students in grades 3-5. Space is limited to 15 participants.

WHEN: Practice will be held on Thursdays from 7:50-8:50 AM, and Sundays from 4:00-5:00 PM. The season ends with a celebratory 5K fun run on Sunday, May 19^th.

Churchill Bulldog LAX Clinics

Movie Night: Switch to Hotel Transylvania & Volunteers Still Needed

What: “Hotel Transylvania” (PG), coming to DVD just days before our event! (Wreck It Ralph was delayed until March and we didn’t want to reschedule!)

Time: Doors open at 6:30, come early for best seats! Movie begins at 7

Starr Breakfast on 1/28 for Staff Only

After receiving further clarification from the superintendent’s office, we have learned that the coffee drop-in with Dr. Starr, which is scheduled for January 28, is for staff only. A previous Spotlight and Bearpost included an invitation to parents. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Enrichment Scholarships Awarded

The PTA is excited to announce that seven BMES children received full scholarships to PTA-sponsored after-school enrichment activities, thanks to our generous enrichment providers and the hard work of Mrs. Kanter, who oversaw the scholarship program. Thank you to those families who submitted applications. If you missed the chance to apply this season, please stay tuned for the announcement of the spring enrichment scholarship program!
