Parents, Please help the teachers and front office. The after hours enrichment classes offered through Flex Academies start this week. In order to aid the school staff with the safe and orderly transition of the students to the after hours enrichment classes (Chess, Coding, Drawing, Mad Sciences, Tennis) please make sure that you notify the teachers by putting a note in the student folders including the complete name of the class and start date. Mandatory Training for Volunteers (If you Completed in 2016-2017, Still Valid!)

Mandatory MCPS Volunteer Training (30 Min. Online)

Last year, MCPS initiated a mandatory child abuse and neglect training for ALL school volunteers available on the MCPS website called, “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect: For Volunteers and Contractors.”

ALL lunch/recess, field trip, media and classroom volunteers
MUST take the training before volunteering.

If you completed the MCPS training during the 2016-2017 school year, you DO NOT need to take it during the 2017-2018 school year.Read Full Post

Many schools have been flooded and sustained damaged from hurricane Harvey. We know these teachers have poured love and effort into making their classroom a safe learning space for their students, and now many have lost all of that. Calling 5th Graders Interested in Model UN!

Welcome all 5th Graders!

 

Do you have an interest in global issues? Do you want to learn skills in negotiation, public speaking, problem solving, conflict resolution, research and communication? Then join the Model UN club in its third year at Bells Mill!

 

The program is supported by the United Nations Association – USA of the National Capital Area. Students who join will have the opportunity to participate in 2 conferences:

  • The Fall Model UN Training Conference (November 16, 2017)
  • The Spring Model United Nations Conference (in late April of 2018)
