  • The Media Center needs volunteers.  Any amount of time you can volunteer is      truly needed and greatly appreciated.  The Media Center has a variety      of volunteering opportunities on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday      afternoons (after 12:30). No prior experience is necessary, and Mrs. Floyd      will provide training.
    Sign up now at: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/70A054EA8AF0-media
  • Please remember to replenish      your child’s lunch account.  Now is a good time to make a deposit      that will cover lunches through the end of the school year.  Any remaining balance will carry over to      next year.

  • You can sponsor a deserving child      for Camp Bells Mill.  Send in your      tax deductible contribution (checks made payable to Bells Mill Bear Hug Fund), and your donation will help defray      the cost of tuition for a deserving child.       You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.

  • Congratulations and thank you to      the 4th/5th grade chorus and Mrs.      Vinson for a fantastic walk down memory lane.  We enjoyed their presentation of Motown      hits.  A few of us remember when      those songs were new.

  • This is a reminder      to all parents who paid a deposit for Camp Bells Mill/Kinder Camp, in      order to complete registration please make your final payment now.  If you wish to      discuss payment options please contact Mrs. Thomas at [email protected]      or 301-469-1046.

  • Parents of Second Grade Students are invited to meet with Ms. Taylor and Mrs. O to learn about the Global Screening Process for Gifted and Talented Identification on Tuesday evening, May 21, at 7:00 pm.  We will meet in the Media Center.  Individual student results will not be available at this time.  We are sharing the process and the format of the letter you will receive during the summer concerning your child’s results.

  • Check out the Lost & Found area on the stage for your child’s missing belongings.  Any remaining items will be donated to charity when school ends in June. We also have many pairs of eyeglasses in the office.

  • Don’t Miss the Gaithersburg Book Festival.  Montgomery County Public Schools is proud to be a partner in the 2013 Gaithersburg Book Festival (GBF) on Saturday, May 18, on the grounds of Gaithersburg City Hall. The GBF has a great lineup of authors and activities for children of all ages. Several members of the MCPS community will be conducting readings at the festival and there will be many programs, workshops, and activities in the Children’s Village that are designed to promote interest in reading and writing. Montgomery County Public Schools will also have a booth at the event with news and information about the district and staff members who can answer your questions. For more information about the GBF, visit gaithersburgbookfestival.org/.

  • Thank you Mr. Romans and the 5th      grade helpers for a great Field Day.       We were lucky to have beautiful weather.  We appreciate all the parents who came      out to cheer on their athletes.

  • A reminder from the cafeteria . . . If your child owes money      to the cafeteria please make a deposit to cover that amount.  The      school is obligated to pay off any student negative account balances that remain      at the end of the year.  Money      left in your child’s account will carry over to next year.

  • In lieu of end-of-year gifts,      teachers ask that you consider a tax deductible contribution to the Bells      Mill Bear Hug Fund.       The teacher will receive a card stating that a contribution has      been made by you, and you will receive a receipt and letter for tax      purposes.  Please make checks      payable to “Bells Mill Bear Hug Fund”      and send them to Ms. DeMarino in the office.
