Giant A+ discontinued! But, there are other ways to support us while you shop!

For many years, Bells Mill has been a part of the Giant A+ program.  Linking your bonus card enabled the school to collect thousands of dollars over the years and we raised over $4K this year alone!  It is through your support that this has been so successful and we cannot thank you enough!  Unfortunately, the program is being discontinued by Giant and we will no longer be able to collect A+ bucks.

BMES PTA have won the Engage-It award!!

We’re excited to share that we received the Engage-It! award from the Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) for having one of the greatest PTA member to student ratios! Through PTA volunteers and donations, we’re able to sponsor more than 50 activities to support academic improvement, cultural arts, student affairs, school events, and staff appreciation! 75% of our funding comes from membership fees and donations. WCHS Annual Asian American Festival – June 1

Come join the PTSA’s 2nd annual Asian American Festival at WCHS on June 1 from 7-9pm in the Churchill cafeteria!  The event is a showcase of Asian American culture, with food and performances from various Asian countries such as China, India, and Vietnam.

Board of Education Seeks Comment on Policy Addressing Student Well-Being and School Safety

In spring 2017, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) launched a comprehensive review of protocols, practices and infrastructure related to the critical imperative of maintaining safe, orderly learning environments for all students. Findings and recommendations were reported to the Montgomery County Board of Education in the summer of 2017 and spring 2018. Bells Mill 50th Anniversary Celebration TONIGHT!!

Hope to see everyone at the special event this evening! Dinner will be ready for purchase beginning at 5pm with tables set up on the basketball court. The Jazz Band & String Group will begin their performances outside the building and by the Media Center at 5:45p. Our K-5 Decade Sing will begin with our kindergarteners performing in the APR starting at 6p. Volunteer Help Needed for Cosmic Adventures Assembly on May 30th!

The BMES PTA is sponsoring an assembly event for grades K-2 students on May 30th at the school gym during school hours. The Cosmic Adventures Traveling Planetarium is presenting the programs “StellarLunar” and “Voyage to the Moon” programs, focusing on Earth’s nearest neighbor in space. The students will explore stars, a few constellations, and the phases of the Moon inside a computerized planetarium.

Attn: 4th Grade Parents – Learn about the Middle School Magnet Consortium

You and your Grade 4 student are invited to a preview about middle school options in the Middle School Magnet Consortium. These schools include Argyle, Loiederman, and Parkland middle schools. This meeting will only discuss these three schools mentioned.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at Albert Einstein High School at 11135 Newport Mill Road in Kensington from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Bells Mill International Festival – TONIGHT!!!

The annual Bells Mill International Festival is TONIGHT! Doors will open at 7PM. Grab a boarding pass and passport at the door, visit country hosts from around the world, enjoy cultural performances, snap a picture at our photo booth, and sample international foods.
