Worried About Safe Routes Around Our School?

Are you concerned about pedestrian issues around your school? Do you think some of the bus routes or bus stops need to be changed to be safer for kids? We could use your help!

The MCCPTA Safe Stops and Routes to School Committee is hoping to have a point person at every MCPS school.

2018-2019 School Year Extended to June 14

Recent inclement weather forced MCPS to close schools on three days. The 2018-2019 MCPS school calendar includes 182 instruction days, two more than the minimum required in the state of Maryland. As a result of those closures, MCPS will need ot use one desingated make-up day to ensure that it meets the state-required number of shcool days. Center for Enriched Studies – Results Available this Week

Parents of Grade 3 students will receive the central review results about the MCPS Center for Enriched Studies testing THIS WEEK. To expedite access to your student’s result/letter, parents/guardians may access the letter in the myMCPS parent portal starting this week. **NOTE** This year the letters will NOT be mailed. Check backpacks for flyers sent home last Friday.

WCHS Family Fun Night & Fundraiser

Each year the WCHS National Honor Society hosts a fundraiser to give back to an organization in the community.  This year they have chosen to support Hope for Henry, a local non-profit organization that provides support for children with severe illnesses to fill their recovery time with fun and entertainment (for example through therapeutic activities, gifts/entertaining distractions, and celebrity visits).

They have organized a fundraiser to raise money for Hope for Henry. This fundraiser will be a Family Fun Night at Churchill with activities and games appealing to children and families on Friday, February 8th from 6:00 PM-8:30 PM. … Read Full Post

Girls on the Run – Registration Opens Feb 5th!

Girls on the Run Spring Registration Will Open on February 5th at 9:00 AM

It is time once again to register your 3rd-5th-grade daughter for the spring Girls on the Run season at Bells Mill. Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through their research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. WCHS Booster Club Annual Gala

On February 2 WCHS will host their annual Booster Club Sports Gala – a parents only event that celebrates our student-athletes and is one of the largest fundraising efforts for Churchill Athletics. As you may know, the high school athletics program is funded only about 25% by the county. The rest is raised through the school athletic events and through Boosters. This is a fun and casual night at Bar Louie in Rockville.  $75/person.  Come on out for a fun night and help support our athletic programs!
