Bells Mill Elementary School PTA

Would you like to refresh your family photos and earn money for the PTA? Abby Kelly Photography is offering a one day fundraiser for Bells Mill on June 9th! Your family will receive a half hour photo shoot including a complementary high resolution image (with purchase). Turn in that big bag of Box Tops that you have been holding on to all year! The ice cream contest will soon end! Submit all of your Box Tops by TOMORROW June 1st to count towards your child’s classroom. The co-chairs of Geography Bowl are seeking parent volunteers to serve as MCs, score keepers, judges, time keepers and party hosts during the week of the Geo Bowl. We especially need volunteers to fill the MC role for each grade. This is a key position and we have an emcee script to make this job easier. Biker Barre is a new fitness studio featuring cycling and barre classes at the Cabin John Mall. If you sign up for a class May 26-31, Biker Barre will donate 25% of the class sales to the Bells Mill ES PTA! For more information on how to sign up, click here.

For many years, Bells Mill has been a part of the Giant A+ program.  Linking your bonus card enabled the school to collect thousands of dollars over the years and we raised over $4K this year alone!  It is through your support that this has been so successful and we cannot thank you enough!  Unfortunately, the program is being discontinued by Giant and we will no longer be able to collect A+ bucks.

We’re excited to share that we received the Engage-It! award from the Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) for having one of the greatest PTA member to student ratios! Through PTA volunteers and donations, we’re able to sponsor more than 50 activities to support academic improvement, cultural arts, student affairs, school events, and staff appreciation! 75% of our funding comes from membership fees and donations. Come join the PTSA’s 2nd annual Asian American Festival at WCHS on June 1 from 7-9pm in the Churchill cafeteria!  The event is a showcase of Asian American culture, with food and performances from various Asian countries such as China, India, and Vietnam.

In spring 2017, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) launched a comprehensive review of protocols, practices and infrastructure related to the critical imperative of maintaining safe, orderly learning environments for all students. Findings and recommendations were reported to the Montgomery County Board of Education in the summer of 2017 and spring 2018. The 2018 report detailed that, while cameras, other technology and security staff are critical for school safety, it is equally important to foster a culture and climate that incorporates safety into daily operations at every school.… Read Full Post

The Jazz Band & String Group will begin their performances outside the building and by the Media Center at 5:45p. Our K-5 Decade Sing will begin with our kindergarteners performing in the APR starting at 6p.
