Parents, please help the teachers and front office. The after hours enrichment classes offered through Flex Academies have started. In order to aid the school staff with the safe and orderly transition of the students to the after hours enrichment classes (Chess, Coding, Drawing, Mad Sciences, Tennis) please make sure that you notify the teachers by putting a note in the student folders including the complete name of the class and start date. It’s almost October and the PTA has some great activities planned for families and teachers. Here are some key events to put on your calendar over the next month. Check the calendar (www.bellsmill.org/calendar) for updates!

• September 28th, Community Night at Churchill (see post for details)
• October 3^rd: First PTA meeting 6:30-7:00 room parent meeting, 7:00-8:00pm PTA meeting
• October 4^th, Walk to School day –meet at Cabin John
• October 4^th, Principal’s Tea, 7pm (2-3 grades)
• October 5^th: Principal’s Tea, 7pm (4-5 grades)
• October 6th: Early Release Day (1:15 p.m.)

It is critical that each and every family support the PTA through membership and direct donations to ensure the continued success of programs such as the Science Fair, Artist-in-Residence, Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad, Reflections, Bingo Night, Club Bells Mill, Geography Bowl, International Festival, Student Directory, Teacher Appreciation, the Bash, cultural arts assemblies, classroom supplies — just to name a few — all organized and funded by the PTA.

PTA Membership is only $25, and we are once again asking for a voluntary donation of $100 (above the membership fee) from each family.… Read Full Post

***One-Time Project For Parent with Financial Background for Month of October***

***The PTA Needs a parent to help select assemblies for the current school year! This one-time event will greatly help our children! Please consider volunteering.***

The Cultural Art Assemblies Committee is reviewing and selecting cultural events for 2017-2018! The committee needs volunteers to attend the Cultural Art Showcases offered by MCPS on October 4th, 11th, and 12th. During these showcases, various performing companies approved by the County make 15 minute presentations. We are thrilled to announce that the annual PTA-Sponsored Bells Mill Scholastic Book Fair is rolling into the school’s media center from Monday, October 9th through Thursday, October 12! This popular and fun event is not a PTA fundraiser. Profits from sales go directly toward purchasing new materials such as media center books or curriculum tool kits for the classroom. Every single student and staff member at our school benefits from our book fair!
