The 5th grade has the pleasure of working with playwright John Morogiello over the next few weeks through a partial grant from the Maryland State Art Council and support from the Bells Mill PTA. Over this next month Mr. Morogiello will be teaching the 5th grade about plot structure specific to playwriting, formating of plays, creating dynamic characters and dialogue, and will be guiding the classes through writing their own plays that they will then rehearse and perform.
All classes will be writing their play based on one picture in the book, The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg, but each class will be writing their play with characteristics from different genres including: science fiction, suspense, mystery, and adventure.
