Our sister school, South Lake Elementary School, in Montgomery Village has asked for our help to provide Thanksgiving meals to 40 families from the school who need assistance. The Bells Mill Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Bells Mill Student Government Association (SGA) are excited to work together to help.
We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items and monetary donations through a local food bank to help make sure all South Lake families can enjoy a holiday meal. Help us show how Bells Mill supports families in need! There are two ways you can help:
(1) Donate non-perishable food items at school. Bring in the following non-perishable food items for your grade by Thursday, November 18, 2021. Collection boxes are in each hallway and SGA representatives will help collect donations.
Kindergarten & Autism Program: 1 can cranberry sauce, 1 bag white rice
1st grade: 2 cans whole kernel corn, 1 boxed stuffing (no bags)
2nd grade: 2 cans green beans, 1 can cream of mushroom soup
3rd grade: 1 can turkey gravy, 1 box instant mashed potatoes
4th grade: 1 can fried onions, 1 can black beans
5th grade: 1 box spice cake mix (or another flavor), 1 can cream cheese frosting
(2) Donate money online to purchase a meal for a family.
You can also donate $25 through Nourish Now, a local food bank, to purchase a full Thanksgiving meal with a turkey! Donate at https://nourish-now.networkforgood.com/projects/142509-thanksgiving-2021 and put “Bells Mill Food Drive” in the notes section. So far we’ve had more than 20 full meals donated!
Please make donations by Thursday, November 18, 2021. If you have any questions or comments, email us at [email protected]. Thank you for your generosity to support local families in need!
