Model UN (or MUN) is an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students act as country delegates and engage in acts of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision-making. The program is offered through Global Minds, LLC, founded in 2021 by former Bells Mill/Cabin John parents, Audré Park and Shreelata Durbhakula.
BMES Model UN is open to all 5th graders, and siblings receive a 5% discount. Please register by November 30 on the Global Minds Website.
Date & Time: Winter Session starts Thursday, November 30, 8:00am- 9:00am for 8 weeks; ends of January 25, 2024.
Cost: $200 *(There are additional student expenses ranging from $20 ~ $60 that are charged by individual conferences)
Global Minds offers three 8-week instructional sessions (Fall, Winter and Spring) throughout the year and serves as administrators to register students for local Model UN conferences at the U.S. Department of State, universities, high schools, and middle schools throughout the DMV area.
