Each week, the PTA will share information from other schools in the cluster or community programs that provide opportunities to connect and help each other. If you have anything you would like to add, email communications@bellsmill.org. While these are not sponsored or endorsed by the BMES PTA, we’re happy to help share information as appropriate.
Flag Star Football: For folks new to town (or new to flag football!): Registration for Flag Star Football’s Fall Flag Season is happening now! And they’re running a series of FREE Promo Days (and Girls Flag Promo Days) for folks to try the league. Flag Star is a local rec league focused on getting better and having fun. No screaming coaches, no midweek practices; it’s fun, positive, and organized. And it’s very much a first-time-player-friendly program. They have programs for everyone—K-12th grade, boys and girls, ‘elite’ players and couch potatoes—and are committed to full inclusion (financial aid available).
You can register for the league here or RSVP for one of their Promo Days to see if you like it. ‘Free Agent’ registration closed August 7th, although you can always e-mail hq@flagstarfootball.com if you have questions (or want to try the promo day before you register).
RISE Flag Football Bethesda: Butch Worden has been a dedicated coach, teacher, and mentor at Walter Johnson HS for decades, and now brings his experience and joy to flag football. Whether your child is starting out or looking for a fun challenge, Coach Worden’s program offers a safe environment where they can learn, grow, and love the game.
