Our first in-person PTA meeting was held this Tuesday, October 7. Thank you to all the families who joined us; draft meeting minutes will be made available on the PTA website shortly. Attending our PTA meetings is a great way to stay connected and make a difference in your child’s school experience. It’s a chance to hear what’s happening around the school from Dr. Smith and Mrs. Tilkens, share ideas, and help shape upcoming events and programs. You’ll get to know teachers, staff, and other parents, build a stronger sense of community, and learn how PTA funds directly support student activities and classroom needs. Everyone is encouraged to join, and you do not have to be a PTA member to attend. Our next meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, December 2, at 6:30pm; a link to register will be sent closer to the meeting date. We hope to see you there!
As part of the PTA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we are looking forward to seeing all students at tomorrow’s school assembly with Mr. Lilo, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Thank you very much to all the families who created a poster to educate the students on their heritage; please encourage your students to stop by and take a look at all the posters displayed outside Mr. Fenton’s office.
After-school enrichment opportunities for students is another initiative being coordinated by the PTA this year. This fall, over 150 students are participating in programs including pottery, chess, cooking, STEM, and various sports. We’re finalizing the winter and spring enrichment schedule, which will be shared on the Kiddo website by the end of October. As a reminder, after-school activities from outside vendors/companies/individuals are not sponsored or endorsed by BMES or the BMES PTA.
Thank you for your continued support of the BMES PTA and our students!
