It’s time for another exciting school year to start, and an important part of Bells Mill Elementary is our PTA.

Why join the PTA? Through the PTA, families and teachers work together to enrich the school experience. This year we will invest more than $46,000 in Bells Mill and sponsor more than 50 programs, including the Teacher Classroom Fund, Academic Enrichment, Assemblies, Staff Appreciation, International Festival, community events, and more. Back to School Picnic – September 26; Just a few volunteer slots left!

We are one week away from the Back to School Picnic! Please join us for a night of fun on Thursday, September 26 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. There will be inflatables, music, local vendors, the ice cream truck, and more. Please review the event flyer for all the details. Recess and Lunch Volunteer Information Session – Friday, September 20

Interested caregivers will have the opportunity to volunteer during recess and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year beginning Monday, September 23rd. Members of our parent community are working on developing the sign-up for the school year, and the link will be shared in the coming days.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering during recess and/or lunch must complete MCPS Volunteer Compliance Training as well as attend an in-person meeting at Bells Mill ES. Registration is Now Open for Odyssey of the Mind – Closes September 27

Odyssey of the Mind is an international program aimed at developing creative problem-solving skills in children of all ages.  The program encourages teamwork, critical analysis of ideas, effective conflict resolution, flexible creative thinking, and on-stage performance skills.  Students are placed in teams of 5-7 students based on grade level, interests, child preferences, and balance. Grades 1-2 participate in Primary Division and Grades 3-5 in Division 1.  Participants have the opportunity to compete at the Maryland State Tournament in the Spring, with the potential to advance to the World Finals.… Read Full Post

Support the PTA on Scoop Night – Tomorrow, September 17

Would you like your teacher to serve you some ice cream? Then head to Baskin Robbins tomorrow, September 17! Teachers will be scooping from 4.30pm-6.30pm; be sure to mention Bells Mill for 20% of the proceeds to benefit the PTA.

Registration is Now Open for Model UN Fall Session

Model United Nations (or Model UN) is an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students act as country delegates and engage in acts of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. The program is offered through Global Minds, LLC, founded in 2021 by former Bells Mill/Cabin John parents, Audré Park and Shreelata Durbhakula.
