Happy (almost) Friday and Happy Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15–October 15)!

Registration is now open for Odyssey of the Mind for Bells Mill students in grades 1–5. You can learn about the program and parent volunteer opportunities as well as register using the online registration form available at:  https://bit.ly/OOTM2324 . Please register by September 29.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international program aimed at developing creative problem-solving skills in children of all ages. FLEX academies will be offering programs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Enrollment opens on September 11 and spots are limited. View flyer here for classes and schedule.

While the PTA helps coordinate this program, FLEX academies administer the programs and coordinates with the individual providers, as well as provides a staff person to ensure safe dismissal of students. For more information about a program, please email [email protected]

Model UN (or MUN) is an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students act as country delegates and engage in acts of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. The program is offered through Global Minds, LLC, founded in 2021 by former Bells Mill/Cabin John parents, Audré Park and Shreelata Durbhakula.

Global Minds offers three 8-week instructional sessions (Fall, Winter and Spring) throughout the year, and serves as administrators to register students in local Model UN conferences at the U.S.… Read Full Post
