At the June 7 General Meeting, the Free State PTA Bylaws with Bells Mill PTA’s designations will be presented for approval by those present at the meeting. The Bylaws can be found here and any questions can be directed to Jessica McClellan at [email protected].

The BMES annual Geo Bowl will be held in June this year.

The dates for the Geo Bowl are:

• 3rd grade – 6/2
• 4th grade – 6/7 
• 5th grade – 6/7

Geography fans will form class teams and use their knowledge of geography to contest a champion! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Jialu Zhang [email protected], or Isha Patel [email protected]

Field day is quickly approaching and volunteers are still needed.

Our bylaws require us to form a nominating committee to fill next year’s PTA board. We need to identify at least two volunteers who are current PTA members. The nominating committee will be responsible for formally nominating eligible persons for open PTA board positions and reporting their nominees to the general membership prior to the PTA election at a general membership meeting in May. Come celebrate diversity at Bells Mill TOMORROW, Friday, May 6, 2022, 5-7 p.m. on the Bells Mill Blacktop! 

This year the festival will feature a performance at 5:30 by the Choy Wun Lion Dance Team with traditional ceremonies, demonstrations, and photo opportunities. In Chinese culture, the Lion symbolizes power, wisdom, and superiority. An important ritual around lunar new year, the Lion dance is performed to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year.
