Recess and Lunch Volunteer Information Session – Friday, September 20

Interested caregivers will have the opportunity to volunteer during recess and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year beginning Monday, September 23rd. Members of our parent community are working on developing the sign-up for the school year, and the link will be shared in the coming days.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering during recess and/or lunch must complete MCPS Volunteer Compliance Training as well as attend an in-person meeting at Bells Mill ES. Weekly Message from the PTA

This week, we are excited to shine a spotlight on a big part of the school day: lunch and recess! The PTA plays a vital role in making recess a time of joy and enrichment for our students, and we want to share what we do.

What We Support at Recess: The PTA helps fund the fun activities during recess, from soccer and basketballs to chalk, beads for bracelets, bubbles, jump ropes, and more. Weekly Message from the PTA

This week, we wanted to highlight the PTA’s fundraising efforts through restaurant nights which have raised over $1,900 so far this year! Special thanks to local favorites California Tortilla, The Scoop, Shake Shack, Potomac Pizza, and most recently Colony Grill which raised $1,000.

The impact of these funds, whether it’s funding free events like Magic and Muffins, supporting Bells Mill Staff with lunches, or providing students with supplies for the Green Leader Club, highlights the positive influence restaurant nights have on the school community.  … Read Full Post

Indoor Movie Night Today, October 20

Due to the weather, movie night has been moved inside to the gym. Join your classmates and their families for Indoor Movie Night in the Bells Mill gymnasium today, Friday October 20, from 6.15 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Students have voted for Kung Fu Panda as the movie!

Scholastic Book Fair, October 13-20–Last Night Tonight and Day Tomorrow!

The final night of the Scholastic Book Fair is tonight from 6:00-8:00pm and the final day is tomorrow until around 12/1pm! Please be sure to stop by the Book Fair and get your final shopping done!

Science Fair is April 4 — Details

The Science Fair is this Friday! We are holding daytime viewing hours this year for the kids to see all the great projects! If your child has created a board for the science fair please have them bring it school Friday morning at arrival time. Children can drop off their project boards in the APR before going to class. Please have your child bring JUST the board to school Friday morning (all back up materials can be bought in for the Friday night Open House.)
