Churchill PTSA Cluster-wide meeting on School Resource Officer Program

The upcoming Churchill HS PTSA meeting on March 16 at 7 pm will be a cluster-wide meeting to learn more about MCPS’ School Resource Officer Program. The PTSA board has assembled a panel of six participants to present various viewpoints and research findings on the SRO program and its history, and respond from different perspectives to questions from participants. Panelists will include Churchill SRO Officer Amy Homrock, Principal Heckert, Poolesville Cluster representative Jane Lehrman, MCPS SRO working group member Rob Willcox, and county Student Government Association president Hana O’Looney, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee member Idara Umoh.  Our goal is to hold a respectful, open discussion as we learn more about the program, the impact it it has had, and its future.

Please note that because we expect high attendance, we will be holding a Webinar version of Zoom, which means that you will only be seeing the panelists. We will offer a chat room to offer questions from the floor after the panelists have concluded their presentations. Please let us know if you plan to attend, and the questions you would like to ask about the SRO program, in the form linked here.

To conduct more research on the SRO program before the meeting, please see the documentation MCCPTA has gathered here in Frequently Asked Questions.
