From the PTA: Wishing you a Wonderful Summer

Today we finally wrap up what has felt like a never-ending school year—and what a year it’s been, with the biggest highlight being named a National Blue Ribbon School. From the celebration parade the day it was announced to the Blue Ribbon Bash, it’s a recognition that brought our community together and one our kids will always remember and be proud of. A huge thank you to Dr. Smith and staff for leading us there and to everyone who helped make it such a meaningful celebration this entire year!

This year also brought some change. We said goodbye to Mrs. Kemp as she left to lead her own school—an exciting next step, and one she’s more than ready for. We were fortunate to welcome Mr. Johnson, who stepped in smoothly and supported our school through the rest of the year. To our fifth grade class—congratulations! We’re proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next for each of you.

At Back to School Night, we asked each family to volunteer just once during the year—and so many of you answered the call. Whether you helped with an event, signed up for a shift, or offered behind-the-scenes support, thank you. Our PTA and school community simply couldn’t do what we do without you.

A big thank you as well to our incredible staff—for showing up to events, scooping ice cream, joining the PTA, and supporting us in countless ways. Your involvement makes a big difference, and we truly appreciate it.

To our PTA board members, both those continuing and those wrapping up their terms—thank you for your time, ideas, and leadership. And a special shoutout to Natalie Malloy, Divya Tonse and John Sorrenti for the Thursday morning emails to get the Bear Post ready, keeping us informed each week!

Last week, we said goodbye to Miss Wolfe, and in her memory, we added the Kindness Rocks Garden at the Bells Mill Little Free Library. Over the summer, please help our garden grow by leaving a special rock or stop by if you need a little extra kindness. Always remember, birds of a feather flock together.

On behalf of the Bells Mill PTA, we wish you all a fun, relaxing, and well-deserved summer!
