Bingo Night – March 5

Bingo Night is Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Bingo start at 6:00 pm.

If you previously registered, your registration will automatically transfer over to the new date of March 5. We are in need of volunteers to make Bingo Night a success. If you are attending on March 5 and can volunteer, please sign up HERE.

Due to popular demand for this event, we are unable to accept any new registrations at this time.

Model UN Coordinator

BMES Model UN – Spring Session

Model UN (or MUN) is an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students act as country delegates and engage in acts of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. The program is offered through Global Minds, LLC, founded in 2021 by former Bells Mill/Cabin John parents, Audré Park and Shreelata Durbhakula. Bells Mill Sock Drive – Send in Socks Through February 16

Did you know that socks are the #1 most requested item in our shelters? Sponsored by the Kindergarten Team, Kindergarten Room Parents and in partnership with the BMES Green Leader Club, we are accepting all size socks (gently used or new) to support community shelters. There are drop-off baskets in every hall, so please bring your donations by February 16.

Bells Mill Talent Show is Tomorrow!

Come see your friends and classmates in the BMES Talent Show on Friday, February 2. Doors open at 6.00pm. The students have worked hard on their talents and can’t wait to perform. Due to overwhelming interest and the many talents of our students, we are no longer accepting submissions for this year!

Congratulations: MCCPTA Reflections Honorees!

We are so proud and pleased to announce the honorees for this year’s MCCPTA Reflections Program. The following Bells Mill students won awards at the county level and will move onto the state level competition:

Dance – Jennifer Dong, Award of Merit (Primary group) – 2nd Grade

Visual Arts – Brian Xin, Award of Excellence (Intermediate group) – 3rd Grade

Literature – Caden Xin, Award of Excellence (Primary group) – Kindergarten

Music Composition – Brian Xin, Honorable Mention ( Intermediate group ) – 3rd Grade

Weekly Message from the PTA

This week, we are excited to shine a spotlight on a big part of the school day: lunch and recess! The PTA plays a vital role in making recess a time of joy and enrichment for our students, and we want to share what we do.

What We Support at Recess: The PTA helps fund the fun activities during recess, from soccer and basketballs to chalk, beads for bracelets, bubbles, jump ropes, and more. Weekly Message from the PTA

This week, we wanted to highlight the PTA’s fundraising efforts through restaurant nights which have raised over $1,900 so far this year! Special thanks to local favorites California Tortilla, The Scoop, Shake Shack, Potomac Pizza, and most recently Colony Grill which raised $1,000.

The impact of these funds, whether it’s funding free events like Magic and Muffins, supporting Bells Mill Staff with lunches, or providing students with supplies for the Green Leader Club, highlights the positive influence restaurant nights have on the school community.  … Read Full Post

Community Corner–Churchill Girls Basketball Community Night Rescheduled to January 22

Last week in the Community Corner we shared information about the Churchill Girls Basketball Community Night originally scheduled for tonight (1/16). Because of the weather (again!), that event has been rescheduled to Monday, January 22. Come out and support the Lady Bulldogs; JV plays at 5:30PM followed by varsity at 7:15PM.
