We hope many of you were able to dine at Colony Grill last week and enjoy some pizza while supporting Bells Mill. With the holidays fast approaching, please consider contributing to the cookie buffet and/or staff member holiday gift (see posts below for more information, and the list of staff’s favorite things). As always, we appreciate all of your contributions and could not maintain such a great community without your help and support!

Verify Directory Information by December 4!

Bells Mill’s print directory will be sent to the printer soon, so please login to your AtoZ Connect account and verify your information by Monday, December 4. Any changes made online after that date will not be captured in the printed directory! This includes updating your child(ren)’s current classroom teacher(s) and noting your privacy preferences. Reflections Art Program Deadline Extension until Tomorrow, December 1

The submission deadline for the Reflections art program has been extended to tomorrow, December 1.

This year’s Reflections art program is underway, and students are encouraged to create original art (visual art, music, dance, photography, writing, and film) based on this year’s theme: “I am hopeful because…”

Holiday Coat and Boot Drive for South Lake Elementary School

During November, our students are learning about being positive and responsible citizens within the school community as our school-wide SEL focus, and to support this learning, we are sponsoring a coat and boot drive for our sister school, South Lake Elementary School.

If you are able, please donate new or barely used coats and boots of all sizes at the donation boxes in the front hall over the next few weeks. Thank you very much for your support!

Donate a Thanksgiving Meal to Families in Need

Our sister school, South Lake Elementary School, in Montgomery Village, has asked for our help to provide Thanksgiving meals to families from the school who need assistance. We are also hoping to provide meals for families in our own community.

Donate Here to sponsor a family of 4 for $40. Please select “Bells Mill Elementary School 2023” under “Apply my donation to…” so we can track the donations from our school.

Model UN Winter Session Registration Now Open

Model UN (or MUN) is an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students act as country delegates and engage in acts of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision-making. The program is offered through Global Minds, LLC, founded in 2021 by former Bells Mill/Cabin John parents, Audré Park and Shreelata Durbhakula.

Reminder to RSVP: School Visitation Day is Tomorrow!

A friendly reminder that tomorrow, from 1:45pm-3:45pm Bells Mill will host Visitation Day (formally known as Open House) where you can visit your child’s classroom.  Please RSVP using this Google Form and have your government ID ready when you arrive to enter the school.

Families whose youngest child is in grades K–2 will check in at the side door next to the blacktop.  Families whose youngest child is in grades 3-5 will check in at the main entrance in order to reduce crowding.
