MCPS is conducting a boundary study to determine the attendance boundaries for the new Crown High School in Gaithersburg, beginning in the 2027-2028 school year. What is a boundary study, you might ask? As we suspected, given the rain and wind forecast for this Monday, Breakfast with Bears will be rescheduled to Tuesday, October 14. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this unusual fall weather!
On Tuesday morning, donuts, juice, and Starbucks coffee will be served from 8:30am to 9:05am. Water will be available to fill up your water bottles.

Our Bells Mill PTA Membership Drive is in full swing, and we’re making great progress! So far, 207 families have joined—thank you!
Our goal is to reach 250 families by October 24, and we’re just 43 families away. Let’s do this, Bears! Right now, 2nd grade is leading the pack with the highest percentage of PTA members and is on track to win the brand-new Bells Mill Croc Jibbitz! Here’s the current grade-level breakdown:

Breakfast with Bears is a PTA fall tradition for our families to meet and enjoy some light breakfast refreshments on the blacktop before school. We encourage all families to attend and make some new friends! Breakfast is currently scheduled for Monday, October 13, from 8:30am to 9:05am. Bells Mill PTA is hosting a Trunk or Treat for all our families. The event will be on Saturday, October 25, 4:30pm-6:30pm in the school parking lot. Costumes are encouraged!
To ensure we have enough candy for everyone, please register your child(ren) for this event by October 21—we want to make sure that no one goes home empty-handed!

Understanding the MCCPTA Draft Resolution on the MCPS Programs Analysis
The Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) has introduced a Draft Resolution on Programs Analysis, urging MCPS and the Board of Education to pause and allow meaningful public input before moving forward with major changes to magnet and regional academic programs.
