Scotland Neighborhood Black History Event – Saturday, February 26

You are cordially invited to the 1st Annual Scotland Neighborhood Black History Event on February, 26th from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The Scotland Community Center will be transformed into a relaxed museum style setting with several areas to view and share stories. The address is 7700 Scotland Dr, Potomac, MD 20854.

Black History Month Trivia

The PTA is excited to sponsor a Black History month trivia contest for all students at Bells Mill. Each class works together to answer a trivia question each Friday. At the end of the month we will award a prize to the winning class!

Playwright in Residence – 5th Grade

The 5th grade has the pleasure of working with playwright John Morogiello over the next few weeks through a partial grant from the Maryland State Art Council and support from the Bells Mill PTA. Over this next month Mr. Morogiello will be teaching the 5th grade about plot structure specific to playwriting, formating of plays, creating dynamic characters and dialogue, and will be guiding the classes through writing their own plays that they will then rehearse and perform.  … Read Full Post

Enriched Literacy Curriculum (ELC) Meeting TONIGHT at 7:00 pm

PTA Meeting Recap

Thanks to the 37 families who joined our PTA meeting this week. We heard a great presentation from Mrs. Kanter on her role as school counselor. We shared information on Black History Month program, which will be posted soon. We also discussed upcoming activities for the spring, including a Playwright in Residence for the 5th grade and Science/STEM Night. Minutes will be posted on the website soon.
