Virtual Community Conversation on Curriculum TONIGHT

Don’t miss an opportunity to join MCPS curriculum leaders and learn more about the new curriculum during a live presentation and virtual conversation beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14. MCPS Boundary Study – Upcoming Meeting Nov 18th

MCPS is undergoing a district wide boundary analysis that could alter school boundaries for all students county wide.  Please click here for more information provided by MCPS on the study as well as the timeline.

The next community meeting being held by MCPS will be on November 18 at 850 Hungerford Road.  All of those interested in engaging and speaking are encouraged to sign up here.

No Shame at School Act

Maryland PTA is joining Maryland Hunger Solutions in collecting individual and organizational sign-ons in support of the federal No Shame at School Act. Click here for the sign-on letter.

Youth Town Hall – Nov 13

The Montgomery County Council is inviting students to a youth town hall on Nov. 13 at Wheaton High School to learn more about the issues impacting them.

The meeting, which will be held in the auditorium, will be from 7 to 8:30 p..m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for a pre-meeting pizza reception, during which councilmembers will also visit with students and their family members.

Halloween Parade – FRIDAY NOV 1

Due to the inclement weather today, the Halloween parade will be TOMORROW morning.  Please send your child(ren) to school in their costumes with a change of clothes.  The children will go to class for attendance then will come back out for the parade promptly at 9:30am.

All families are invited to attend and line the parade route on Friday morning (the sidewalk by the kindergarten classes, the basketball court, and the sidewalk leading up to Georgetown Hill path, the path by Georgetown Hill to the stop sign, and the sidewalk coming down to the front entrance of the school.… Read Full Post

This is a new event this year! We heard from some of the families of younger students that we needed an activity more geared toward their age group as well as something to allow parents to get to know school families.
