The Bells Mill PTA’s largest fundraiser of the year, Read-A-Thon, starts Monday, March 10 and fundraising ends on Monday, March 24. Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more!

Bells Mill PTA will host a Science Fair & STEM Night on March 27th! We need student volunteers to complete a science fair project and showcase it that night. Learn more about the projects, and register your project HERE.

The Bells Mill PTA bylaws require us to form a nominating committee to fill next year’s PTA Board. We need to identify 3 more volunteers who are current PTA members. The nominating committee will be responsible for formally nominating eligible persons for open PTA board positions and reporting their nominees to the general membership prior to the PTA election at a general membership meeting in May. The MCCPTA Delegates Assembly is seeking comments on their “Support of Our Community Values” Resolution. This includes promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and access for all students, as well as assisting affected families and schools.
Please review this document and provide any comments to delegate@bellsmill.org by March 21.
The MCCPTA Delegates Assembly passed on February 25, 2025 a Healthy Sleep For Adolescents Resolution which supports a change in bell times for secondary school students. This flyer contains more information about the Resolution, and next steps.
Last Thursday, Bells Mill ES and the Bells Mill PTA were thrilled to welcome Jamaal “Mr. Root” Collier for an engaging and interactive assembly. Mr. Root introduced our students and staff to the history of hip-hop, Black history in Maryland, freestyling, beatboxing, and the power of speaking and listening. He even incorporated phonics, rhythm, and movement—getting our youngest learners jumping, counting, and fully immersed in the experience.
