Scholastic BookFair — Volunteers & Evening Community Events

The annual Scholastic Book Fair starts Friday with our grand opening on Monday, October 12. We still need volunteers so please consider donating a couple of hours if you can!

Call for Volunteers:

This event is a student (and teacher!) favorite as we encourage kids to read and raise funds that go directly back to the media center and classrooms as curriculum tools and books! It requires significant parent volunteer help and is a great way to work inside the school. If you’re interested in helping (there are both daytime and evening hours available) please see the following sign up genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4fada7292-parent.

Evening Hour Community Events During Book Fair

Freed Photography will offer a Family Portrait Night here at school on Tuesday, October 13, 5:00-7:00 pm.  These are the same photographers who did a great job on last year’s student portraits.  This is your opportunity to have family members/siblings photographed together.  Freed guarantees delivery in plenty of time for the holidays.  The sitting fee is $20, which is half off the in-studio fee for the same professional service. Portrait sittings are by appointment only and are conveniently available the same evening that the Book Fair is open.  Information flyers were sent home in backpacks.  To schedule a sitting please visit www.freedSPIRIT.com or call 301-652-5452.

Mrs. Wilkes our reading specialist will be reading to families on Wednesday, October 14 in the APR and the PTA will be providing pizza for families from Potomac Pizza. We will post exact times ASAP.
