Assembly on March 9 – Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

The Bells Mill PTA has arranged an assembly presentation for Monday, March 9, with Story Tapestries, to recognize Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

Storytelling & Performance – Disability Through Story

This program is led by Arianna Ross (CEO of Story Tapestries) and Jessica Wallach. The experience uses storytelling, movement, and embodied performance to explore disability, difference, and belonging through narrative rather than lecture.

At the heart of the program are classic folktales, including Thumbelina, that invite students to imagine the world from different perspectives. Storytelling allows students to connect emotionally, visualize experiences unlike their own, and engage with big ideas in a way that feels accessible and age-appropriate for both younger and older elementary students.

We hope that all students enjoy the performance and we encourage all caregivers to speak with students about the assembly, and what learnings they gained from the experience.
