Supporting Bells Mill and Cabin John Families After House Fire

Last week, two local families with children attending Cabin John Middle School and Bells Mill Elementary School were severely impacted by a devastating fire. As a result, Amanda and her son Michael, as well as Danielle, Kendall, and their four children—including Brycin, a 3rd grader at Bells Mill–have been displaced from their homes.

Feedback Requested: 2026-2027 School Calendar

MCPS is conducting a second survey to help guide decisions for the 2026-27 school calendar. Survey responses are due by November 30.

The survey asks about three different options, all of which have the same spring break (March 26 to April 2).
Draft A would start school Aug. 31 and end on June 23.
Draft B would start school Aug. 24 and end on June 15.

Congratulations to our 4th graders—winners of our PTA Membership Drive with an impressive 66.3% of the grade joining the PTA! Thanks to everyone’s support, we surpassed our schoolwide goal with 260 members—and earned a popsicle party for the whole school!

Donate a Thanksgiving Meal to Local Families in Need

Our sister school, South Lake Elementary School, in Montgomery Village, has asked for our help to provide Thanksgiving meals to families from the school who need assistance. We are also planning to provide meals for families at Bells Mill who need help over the holidays.

Churchill Cluster Community Meeting on Boundary Study – November 4
