BMES Model UN – Attention 5th graders!

This is an invitation to join us at Global Minds LLC for BMES Model UN for the Spring session, the last session for the school year. Global Minds offers three 8-week instructional sessions (Fall, Winter and Spring) throughout the year, and serves as instructors and administrators to register students in local Model UN conferences at the U.S. Department of State, universities, high schools and middle schools throughout the DMV area.

WCHS Mulch Sale

The Winston Churchill Athletics Program is holding its first annual spring mulch sale to support our athletic teams and the student athletes with the help of Denchfield Landscaping Inc. All proceeds will go towards equipment for athletes, facility improvement, and to meet the needs of all of our student-athletes and their teams. Your orders will go a long way to keeping WCHS Athletics amongst the best in the state of Maryland. Yearbook: Submit your pictures! Parent volunteers needed!

The PTA is excited to design the yearbook this year! Parents and staff are invited to submit photos to help us remember the school year! If you’ve got great photos of school and community events we’d like to see them! This could include:

   • PTA events, including the back to school picnic, Magic & Muffins, and the Outdoor Movie

   • Fall festival events and costume parade

   • Spirit days

   • Community service projects at the school

   • Sledding at Bells Mill on snow days

   • Sports teams or clubs associated with Bells Mill 

   • Class projects and other special memories

School-wide Vocabulary Parade – Tomorrow!

Friday, February 24 is our School-Wide Vocabulary Parade at 10:15AM on the blacktop. Parents are invited to watch!

CREATE. Help your child select an AWESOME vocabulary word for this project. It should be one that would be fun to make a costume to show the meaning. Design the costume using paper, boxes, hats, etc. Be sure your child can see and walk safely!

STEM Night & Science Fair – Tomorrow, 2/24, 6-8PM

The PTA is excited to host a combined Science Fair & STEM Night on Friday, February 24 at 6-8 pm! Join us for a fun night featuring the hard work our students have put into their Science Fair presentations, as well as hands-on STEM activities with water balloons, edible DNA, chemical reactions, and more! No RSVP required. This is not a drop-off event.

STEM NIGHT Event Chair and Volunteers Needed

Our annual STEM Night & Science Fair will be held on February 24. We are looking for a volunteer to help lead the STEM Night portion of the program. We use the APR and a number of classrooms for students to use microscopes, build DNA models, learn to code and much, much more! WCHS Presents Peter and the Starcatcher

Ever wonder how Peter and the Lost Boys got to Neverland in the first place? Based on Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s 2006 humorous young adult novel and adapted for the stage by Rick Elice, the play Peter and the Starcatcher shares the backstory of Peter and his pals.

A tale of marauding and magic and hijinx on the high seas, Peter and the Starcatcher is a delight for audience members of all ages.
