Help Us Reach Our PTA Membership Drive Goal- We’re So Close!

Our Bells Mill PTA Membership Drive is in full swing, and we’re making great progress! So far, 207 families have joined—thank you!

Our goal is to reach 250 families by October 24, and we’re just 43 families away. Let’s do this, Bears! Right now, 2nd grade is leading the pack with the highest percentage of PTA members and is on track to win the brand-new Bells Mill Croc Jibbitz! Here’s the current grade-level breakdown:

  • Kindergarten: 51%
  • 1st Grade: 52%
  • 2nd Grade: 54%
  • 3rd Grade: 52%
  • 4th Grade: 50%
  • 5th Grade: 41%

Breakfast with Bears—Please RSVP by Friday Oct. 10

Breakfast with Bears is a PTA fall tradition for our families to meet and enjoy some light breakfast refreshments on the blacktop before school. We encourage all families to attend and make some new friends! Breakfast is currently scheduled for Monday, October 13, from 8:30am to 9:05am. Trunk or Treat—Please RSVP and Host a Trunk!

Bells Mill PTA is hosting a Trunk or Treat for all our families. The event will be on Saturday, October 25, 4:30pm-6:30pm in the school parking lot. Costumes are encouraged!

To ensure we have enough candy for everyone, please register your child(ren) for this event by October 21—we want to make sure that no one goes home empty-handed!

The Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) has introduced a Draft Resolution on Programs Analysis, urging MCPS and the Board of Education to pause and allow meaningful public input before moving forward with major changes to magnet and regional academic programs. PTA Meeting & Childcare for October 7

Please join us at our first general PTA meeting of the year tomorrow, Tuesday, October 7, at 6:30pm in the APR. All parents are encouraged to attend! Bar-T will be providing complimentary childcare for school-age children during the meeting; pizza will be provided! This service is available for the first 60 children. Odyssey of the Mind—Registration Extended to October 1 (today!)

Registration for Odyssey of the Mind has been extended to October 1, so if you haven’t had a chance to register, now’s the time!

Odyssey of the Mind is an international program that builds creative problem-solving, teamwork, and performance skills in students. Teams of 5–7 are formed by grade, interests, and balance, with Grades 1–2 in the Primary Division and Grades 3–5 in Division 1. Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly & Poster Project (Deadline Extended)

We are pleased to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month again this year (September 15-October 15). On October 10, students will be attending a special Cultural Arts Assembly, arranged by the PTA, with Mr Lilo Gonzales to honor this important month (you can listen to his music ahead of time on Spotify)!

In addition, we’re inviting Hispanic and/or Latino families to create posters that showcase the diverse countries and cultures we’re celebrating. Ms. Pilar Busto, one of our parents, is helping coordinate these family posters for our school.… Read Full Post
