Join us for the upcoming PTA meeting on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Smith and Mrs. Tilkens will review proposed allocations for the 2026–27 school year, and we’ll share an update on the ongoing boundary study.
The meeting will be held on Zoom. Registration details will be sent on Monday, March 2.
The Bells Mill PTA’s largest fundraiser of the year, Read-A-Thon, begins Monday, March 2, and we are looking forward to a fun and engaging event for our students. Read-A-Thon inspires a love of reading while giving friends and family the opportunity to support and encourage your child’s reading efforts.
This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 and read a total of 525,000 minutes. With your support, we can make it happen!

At the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2026, MCPS Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor presented his recommendation regarding the Boundary Study options to the Board of Education. He recommended modified Option H, and shared a non-recommended alternative (Option D) if the Board did not accept his first recommendation.
In both options, all of the Bells Mill community will articulate to Cabin John Middle School and Winston Churchill High School. Neither option splits Bells Mill students between two middle schools.… Read Full Post
Dine in, order online, or carryout at Ledo’s Westlake on Monday, February 23rd from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to Bells Mill to support end of year activities for 5th graders, including a field trip, promotion, and more. On Friday night, BMES students absolutely sparkled at the annual Talent Show! From singing and dancing to comedy and instrumental performances, our students wowed the audience with their confidence, creativity, and courage. It was incredible to see so many children step into the spotlight and share their unique talents with our community.

Our thoughts are with the entire Wootton community during this extremely difficult time. The sock drive is back! We will be collecting new or gently used socks for local shelters from 2/9 to 2/20. There will be baskets all around the school in the halls for donation, just like prior years. Please consider donating over the next two weeks.
